Welcome to GaitQuest Therapeutic Horsemanship
I am a 2008 graduate of Equest Therapeutic Horsemanship (
www.equest.org) in Wylie, TX. This is an intense hands on 6 week PATH instructor training course It required 24/7 attendance. I dormed with 4 other students that were from all over the world and USA (Israel, Saudi Arabia, Mexico and Washington State)
There were 10 student positions available and only 9 were filled after the required written/riding entrance exam. Out of the 9, 2 were selected to sit the closed book advanced instructor test at the end of the 6 week course . Only 10% of PATH Instructors are at the Advanced or Master level of certification.
I chose to become a therapeutic riding instructor a few years back with regards to owning horses my whole life and my administrative background.... thinking what a wonderful way to give back what horses have given to me!! I felt it was imperative to build a program through PATH standards and guidelines. Safety for all involved is the # 1 priority in this business along with fostering independence and having fun!!
